Sumba Island

Sumba Island faces the Indian Ocean and lies in the midst of Nusa Tenggara Timur, also known as the Eastern Lesser Sunda islands. During two visits to the island I photographed these fisherwomen among the rock pools at low tide. Women collecting sea salt with hand held nets and planting rice during a down pour.
